London England – Sunday, August 01, 2010 – ShutterVoice – British Airways should be one of the most successful and profitable airlines in the world.
However that is not the case as it stumbles upon one problem after another. The latest is a loss of £164 Million UK Pounds – $257 Million US Dollars in just 3 months April, May and June, BA say this was due to the Icelandic volcano ash fallout. Not sure that we accept the BA reasons as in the same trading period budget carrier Ryan Air recorded a profit in the same period and they were equally exposed to the ash crisis when all the airports in UK were closed and all airline fleets were grounded. The airline has staff problems with strike after strike being accepted as a normal event by the airline management. The BA CEO Willie Walsh says that despite all the problems the airline expects a strong performance in the second half of 2010 and expect to break even for the first time in two years.
‘BA a major brand that often fails to meet passenger expectations!’
