In an effort to further reduce the amount of damage that your car could possibly suffer from, Nissan tied a car mounted radar and computer system to its ongoing project. This new technology will reduce the risk of collisions because of its forward collision avoidance software.
Nissan installed the radar system behind the front bumper of the car. The Japanese manufacturers had a go through of the technology at its official research center in Japan. The collision avoidance system detects any possible risks of the subject vehicle’s potential of collision and notifies the driver through an automated voice message and audible alarms.
Furthermore, if the driver is still not back to his sanity levels, the car automatically tightens the seatbelts and lines up the protective air balloons. Nissan installed the collision system prototype in its Infiniti series and displayed its working. The test car was directly driven towards foam made barricade at 60 Mph. At a distance of 70 meters; the radar system detected the barricade and tried to slow down the car on automatic basis. 1 meter apart from the barricade, the car halted to a stop!
For now, the defense mechanism is supposed to work perfectly at the speed of 60 Mph, but Nissan is still working hard to design the mechanism for hardcore speed demons.
There is another system that is considered to be new. Moreover, it is installed in some navigation systems of Nissan. It is based on the Around View Monitor. With the help of this system when parking you get images from four video cameras that are located near each wheel.
Apart from that the system is responsible for monitoring the videos for signs of movements, such as animals or pedestrians as well as sounds. Due to the new system the driver is provided with additional awareness in case of obscured visibility.
With the help of new technologies, drivers are able to feel safe while driving their cars.
