Regulators approve Microsoft-Yahoo search deal

The deal for Microsoft search on Yahoo websites has been cleared by both, the US Department of Justice and the European Commission.

The OS giants have been given the green light to move ahead and acquire an exclusive 10-year license in Yahoo’s search and advertising, according to a statement released by the EC.

The statement reads: “Pursuant to the agreements concluded by Microsoft and Yahoo, Microsoft will acquire a 10-year exclusive license to Yahoo’s search technologies.

“Microsoft will also hire Yahoo internet search and search advertising staff.”
