The idea of ruling over your very own island is never too old. It is not possible in the real world, that’s why game developers gave it a note of reality through the third installment of Tropico 3, which is a welcome addition to its previous installments.
Tropic 3 is all about:
• Challenging new series of islands to rule
• New construction options that let you build tons of buildings and cities
• The islands have been revamped through new infrastructure
• There is a wide range of new and useful perks and benefits for you
developer – Haemimont Games has maintained the same storyline in Tropic 3 that we’ve been following in the previous versions. The quest line is pretty much similar to Black and White game series, where you have to take over a number of islands, by completing a couple of quests and objectives.
You’re still the same old Latin American fella – El Presidente’, who has to rule a tropical island during the Cold War, from 1950 to 1980s. However, since it’s your third time as the ruler, a lot of things will be different. The tutorial has been retouched with more insight on the gaming mechanism and economics aspects.
The environments are richly detailed and since the view is slightly slanted in a way that it lets you see everything from the top angle, you’ll love those detailed buildings, shadows and fireworks. As a ruler you get to do all sorts of zany and unbelievable things in the game. At some point in Tropico 3, your island becomes haunted by unknown anomalies and it is your job to hire a secret police team – The Alpha Files, to look in to these bizarre events.
The concept of “Absolute Power” is well maintained through all the Tropico games. Tropic 3 is not an exception and it lives up to the level of expectations that we always had from it.
