Interested In Gladiatorial Tournaments? Take a Look at High Voltage Nintendo Game – Tournament of Legends

High Voltage Games got “inspired” by the concept of gladiatorial tournaments and gave it a mix of their own. The story of Tournament of Legends couldn’t be simpler because there is not a lot to it. Your character is a warrior, who somehow got imprisoned against his will and now he has to fight for the sake of entertaining sick people, who love to see some guts spilled on the coliseum’s sand.

No doubt, the game does have a good core but after the intro movie, everything smothers off. The controls are extremely sluggish and there’s no way those characters look like fighters. To me, they looked like Barbie dolls prancing around in their whities.

Tournament of Legends has a total of 10 characters, with each guy/girl varying in traits, size and abilities. Some of them have their mythical storyline linked to them – for example, there’ this character that resembles Minotaur and his name is Brave Hoof.

Tournament of Legends is void of decent programming because the ground rule of selecting a fast warrior isn’t going to work here. Sometimes, your blade will slice through your opponent and he will still stand there and knock a few blows against you.

Moving on to the arenas, everything is spliced up with hazardous environments. You can either use the surroundings to your advantage, or you can just stand there like a numb nut and your opponent can kick the tiniest fibers of life out of you. Tournament of Legends come with interesting elements due to which the Nintendo game has its own personality, but the downside of the game is sluggish controls.

Unfortunately, Tournament of Legends doesn’t ring the right bells for us and we’re gonna have to pass up on this game. Feel free to try it though and if you feel disappointed in the first few matches, you can go back and swap it for another interesting title.
