Blackberry: RIM to introduce new features for its smartphones

RIMRIM (Research In Motion) saw the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain as the perfect opportunity to release information about some new features and services for BlackBerry users. RIM is feeling the heat with the increased popularity and remarkable growth of Apple’s iPhone and does not want to lose ground to any of the competitors.

RIM introduced BlackBerry’s new browser which runs on WebKit and stated the improved browser should be available later this year. RIM insisted the browser will be blessed with speed and easy to use. This is seen as direct competition to the iPhone despite the fact a number of experts have referred to this move as a late one. It certainly does not hurt RIM to introduce the new browser since most of the competition was ahead in this department.
