Motorola’s Droid X was a successful hit on the first day of its launch and Apple had to sulk in the corner, while Verizon and Motorola guys happily handed out their masterpiece. A short list of the Droid X’s features would consist of:
• 4.3 inch screen size
• 8 MegaPixel Camera
• Video play back and recording in 720p
With that being said, there is a big question revolving around the business market. Is the new Droid X capable of being a laptop replacement? If you’re a desktop PC hound who likes to manage everything through the 1 ton heavy platform, then the answer would be No.
But our statistics say that the Droid X could be a decent laptop replacement for field workers. Of course, there are going to be a few setbacks but the device is expected to cover most of the work related activities in minimum amount of time.
The 8 MP camera and high def video recording support is going to be a great resource for people who like to spend time in field. We are talking about insurance company agents and media reporters. Then, there is the “Swype” feature that helps you to fill out online forms. It is a data entry tool which works smoothly through the swipes of your finger.
The Droid X can be regarded as the latest and even probably the greatest handset that is available in the market nowadays. It is a true fact that it can be forgotten in a few months as more feature-packed cell phones will take its place. But all the more, Motorola’s Droid X points to a future where laptop replacing smartphones are a huge possibility. Nothing but the time will show what will happen.
