When it is time to make a choice between small form machines that matter a lot in terms of performance, where do you see yourself? Do you see yourself picking Intel over AMD or vice versa? These days, an increasing number of companies are offering the Mini ITX platforms that deliver an astonishing desktop performance in a well fashioned manner.
For every successful product in tech field, downsizing is a key ingredient. You go for smaller products, you save a lot on energy consumption, busty performance and temperature management.
Speaking of which, the Mini ITX has been around for a number of years and developers have been constantly working to improve it. Now, Mini ITX has become more of a standard for industrial SFF computing networks. The Mini ITX is currently supporting a footprint of only 170X170 mm and it is way too much smaller in size, as compared to the fully grown ATX standard.
We happened to have the honor of using an AMD and Intel platform to take look at what Mini ITX is offering. Our AMD test bed consisted of:
• Sapphire based motherboard
• AMD 785G chipset
Whereas, the Intel test bed had:
• Zotac based motherboard
• Intel H55 chipset
And guess what, who came on top? It was AMD …
