Get to know Twitter

Twitter has been growing in popularity since its launch with a number of celebrities posting their tweets and gaining many followers amongst the public.

ComScore reported Twitter has grown to an audience of around 6 million unique visitors a month compared to about 1.2 million from over a year ago. This is a remarkable increase and Twitter is aided by the fact it is easy and friendly for users.

The user can basically post a message of up to 140 characters (called a tweet or simply  an update) with  a group of people following the update and they are known as followers.

One smart recommendation would be to add a link to a blog or written commentary so user can still have enough space to include more characters. The advantage of Twitter is that a user can send a tweet from a cell phone by simply sending a text message to 40404 or a message can be posted through AOL messenger by sending a message to TwitterIM.
