A bunch of professors clobbered their heads at the Georgetown University, and released an exclusive report that sheds light on the relation between Cloud computing and Internet.
Apparently, professors believe that at some point, Cloud based services are going to become way too much popular. So famous that, people will rarely use internet. Mike Nelson – Georgetown University professors started the story with the 1990’s era.
He said, “Somewhere in mid 90s, we used to have a clear conscience about what and how the internet is going to be like. Now, we don’t have as good a conscience as we used to, in the 90s, so we may not get there. The cloud is more important and it is gaining appraisal rapidly, as compared to the Web”.
It is evident that Cloud Computing is going to play the long term game, in terms of providing a multitude of services to all sorts of clients. Sensors are going to appear in items, such as: lights, handheld hardware devices and tool kits. It would mean that Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud will be able to store and process that item related data in a more efficient manner.
Georgetown University professors also carried out a questionnaire based survey, to calculate the perception of people out there. When asked if the Web is going to lower the society’s intelligence level, it was found out that the internet traits will be the determinants of Web being used as a tool to seek out new information or not.
The general response was that internet hasn’t negatively impacted the social interaction levels. Respondents answered that they realize that internet based activities normally don’t lead to deep friendships or associations with someone, but it is still a good way of staying connected to rest of the world.
Internet is a good source of information as well as way to stay in contact with friends and family. No doubts it influences on our social life, but it is impossible to imagine our life without it.
