Netflix Adds New Movies through a Relativity deal

Netflix is adding more movies for its subscribers to watch online. The new movies will be broadcasted online at the same time they appear on HBO and Showtime TV channels. The new movies and TV shows will also be broadcasted on other premium channels.

Netflix signed a deal with Relativity Media so that more movies can be watched online. The new movies are from Disney and Sony and they can be watched online through a service provided by Starz Entertainment. Netflix had a 2 years old deal with Starz Entertainment.

The new deal enables Netflix to provide 1/5 of the movies from Relativity rental movie chain to online subscribers. It is estimated that 20,000 new movie and TV show titles will be added to the existing movies.

Netfix is slowly transforming itself from a mail order DVD to an online video provider. It also makes its content available to game console and Blue ray players.
