Radeon 5670 Is Efficient in Terms of Temperature

It can be a cumbersome task to take a look at hardware devices from other continents, only to review them later on. However, we somehow managed to get our hands on an AXLE manufactured ATI Radeon 5670 (1GB).

For the record, AXLE is a Hong Kong based company and has distributors all across the world. Although 1GB is too much to say about Radeon 5670 but we just reviewed it for those midrange buyers. The card is priced at $80 – $110 so don’t whine about its “high price”.

After opening the box, you will see a small little cardboard manual that lies on top of the main instruction manual for Radeon 5670. The card is over 11 inches long and it snugly fits atop a rectangular formation inside the box.

Among other things (promotional brochures, warranty card and extra cables), you will find an installation CD and some warning messages, pasted on yellow papers. There is also a Molex PCIe power converter and its installation instructions are stated down in the instructions manual.

As opposed to the 9600 GSO and GeForce9XXX series, the Radeon 5670 is really efficient in terms of temperature. Even at maximum load, the temperature barely rises and all our test results revealed an impressive and stable thermal statistics.

With good heat management, power consumption also comes into mind. This is where Radeon 5670 takes the lead as compared to mid range cards of its kind. The ATI Radeon 5670 consumes less power than the GTS 250 (512Mb) – to put it in a nutshell, your soon-to-be card will only consume 100W of power.
Here is the bottom line for beginner level gamers.

Don’t confuse the memory size with the “extreme” level of performance. Just because Radeon 5670 is at 1GB, it doesn’t mean that you are future safe for the next 5 years. If you really need good results and that too, from a Direct X 11 series card, then go on an expensive venture and your gaming thirst will definitely be quenched.
