News Corp Selling Adspace on MySpace

news-corpThe Wall Street Journal reported that News Corp is in discussion with Google, Yahoo and MSN about selling advertisement on MySpace.

Google previously made a $900 million deal to News Corp. However, the traffic in MySpace has not yet meet the requirement in Google deal. According to the Journal report,  the advertisements will be featured in the search results that are queried by the user in MySpace. In addition, the advertisements will also appear in some of the websites that belong to News Corp.

The Google deal will be expired in August 2010. After the deal had expired, News Corp plans to arrange a narrower agreement with Google Inc and Yahoo Inc.  Since it is a narrower agreement, it is expected to cost less money.

Google, and Yahoo refused to provide further information about the future deal. Microsoft was not present to answer the questions of the reporter on Monday because it is the U.S. national day.
