Dell Acquires Systems Management Vendor KACE
The Hardware Manufacturer Giant,Dell, has acquired Kace, a systems management appliance company. Dell said that it was buying Kace to strengthen its systems management and to target better in mid size organizations.
Dell has acquired Kace for an undisclosed price. Kace offers appliances designed to help accomplish tasks like device discovery, asset management, inventory management and configuration management, which Dell prefers to strengthen on its part.
Dell has aimed at this acquisition to target IT pros at mid-size companies to better manage their systems.
KACE’s flagship product K-Box is an appliance that integrates service desk, user portal and alerting. K-BOX appliance also supports heterogeneous environments with Windows, Mac and Linux. This will help customers to save time and money.
Kace Networks CEO Rob Meinhardt has said that support services and contacts for current Kace customers will remain unchanged, while the newer ones will have to rely on Dell.
Competitors like HP and IBM are now looking this development as a serious one.
