Toshiba and Intel Join Hands For Learning Notebook Targeted At Students

Toshiba and Intel have joined hands to commercialize an educational notebook to facilitate learning. Toshiba now plans to launch the new CM1 tablet for the purposes of education in August  this year. This new notebook, according to Toshiba, the new notebook has the features of Windows 7 Professional operating system, an Intel Atom Processor, an Intel NM10 Express Chipset, a N450 CPU, a 180 degrees rotatable monitor and a touch screen LCD that also supports pen input. The notebook also has 100Base-TX/10Base-T, wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g/n), 2 USB ports, 1 RGB and 160GB/2GB.

Toshiba has pointed out that the new tablet PC is based on its notebook PC technologies and Intel’s Learning Series hardware reference design. It has the ability to connect to electronic blackboards and projectors that are wireless to help students to collaborate and present their work. With this joint venture Toshiba and Intel plan to promote the ICT supported education in elementary and junior high schools and they also have the intention to collaborate in several ways to foster ICT environments in schools also. This launch comes at the right time when the school year is beginning.

The notebook also carries with it other features and that is a design which holds a 160GB hard drive and a lovely and attractive 10.1″ 1,366 x 768 resolution touch screen. The user can flip the display to make room for pen input as it has a stylus. Since this notebook is intended for students it is protected by a rubber and rugged case so that it remains intact and free from scratches. Students are boisterous in nature and this is the reason why the company ensures that the notebook is made free from damage and scratches. The company has dubbed the Toshiba CM1 as the Land of the Rising Sun and this is why it is a widely anticipated model for students today!

The CM1 is indeed the ideal companion for students!
