Serena Williams beats Petra Kvitova and walks up to the finals! Now she has to face Vera Zvonareva in the finals. Petra Kvitova declared herself to Williams with forceful fist pumps, high-pitched squeals and a tennis game of different pace marked by lobs and volleys! But then, in spite of these qualities, there is something that sets Serena apart from her, yup, you got it right- it’s the serve. Ex- tennis player Pam Shriver refers Serena’s serve as the best shot ever delivered by any women tennis player. In fact, it is all because of her serve that she defeated Petra and reached the finals. The twenty eight year old champion will be playing against Russian born Vera Zvonareva in the finals. Serena played without the bandage that she had on her right shoulder when her sister Venus and she were upset because of the doubles. However, her injured shoulder didn’t turn out to be a barrier and she finally made it to the finals with her strong will power and determination.
When asked about her glorious win, Serena Williams couldn’t help but say that this was certainly not a cakewalk for her. In fact, she had to work really hard to attain the position where she is today. She made it clear that is really a great achievement for her to reach the finals. She considers this to be a blessing and hopes that she would live up to the expectations of her admirers. She praised Vera saying that she is a remarkable player and she has had some great matches against her. She finds the finals challenging enough and at the same time hints at the fact that there’s nothing to lose! She is still on the process of recovery and we hope that she will be in her form by the finals.
Here’s wishing Serena All the best for her finals
