Apple & Google putting pressure on mobile phone makers

iphoneThe upcoming mobile trade show in Barcelona will perhaps provide further proof of the emergence of Apple and Google as threats to the established order in the mobile phone markets.

Apple’s iPhone is the single best selling smartphone device while Google recently started selling its touchscreen smartphone known as Nexus One. Google will also be glad to see many new phones using its Android platform. Some of the big names in the phone-making industry such as Samsung and Sony Ericsson have struggled to keep up with Apple’s iPhone which has grown in popularity at a tremendous rate and are concerned by Google’s strong push in the phone market both in terms of hardware and platforms.

Nokia is seen as perhaps the only phone maker capable of halting the growth of Apple and Google in the phone market yet Apple is already making more profit from phones than Nokia is.

Nokia is highly regarded because of having its own operating system and for its large production of phones yet the company appears to be facing some major competition from both Apple and Google.
