Nexus One Phone Owners getting the Froyo aka Android 2.2 through Google

Google really caused a stir aiming the Smartphone operating system designers with the android and Nexus One being their first in the line of Smartphones. So recently, Google announced its latest version of the Android software which they termed as Android 2.2 or the Froyo.

Now Google has started sending and distributing the Android 2.2 known as Froyo to its Smartphone Nexus One owners. A Google update on the blog said that the users of the Nexus one phone will start getting over-the-air updates on their phone for the new Android version; codename Froyo will be available for the Nexus users worldwide. According to the sources in the Google, most of the customers will start getting the update by the end of this running week.

Froyo adds a large spree of features into the phone with the major notable features like ability to make the phone as the Wi-Fi hotspot and also to improve the performance of the handset in terms of speed and connectivity. It offers even better support for the Exchange server of Microsoft.

The adobe and the Google alliance is also visible in this update as the Froyo also incorporates the Adobe Flash 10.1 and this is also the final release of the software, as the Adobe said in the statement that they will hit the market with the final release alongtwith the Froyo reaching the market.

The android competes with the highly popular iOS 4 of the Apple and the Research In Motion Blackberry OS and is also mainly an open source software.

Google has been in a rush to add a spree of features in the Android so that they can have a major chunk of the Smartphone market share and they are indeed catching up fast with the Apple as 160,000 phones are being activated almost daily.
