After launching Kindle application successfully so as to read Kindle e-books on Apple Inc Mac computers, Amazon.com, Inc. has declared a new update for Kindle application that allows readers to enjoy the advantage of embedded audio and video clips in Kindle e-books on iPhone and iPad. Dorothy Nicholls, director of Amazon Kindle, mentioned that they are excited to incorporate this functionality to Kindle for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. He added that “Readers will find some Kindle editions with audio/video clips in the Kindle Store and we look forward to see what authors and publishers create for Kindle customers using the new functionality of the Kindle apps,”
Peter Balis, director, Digital Content Sales, Wiley also pointed out they have indeed made a just decision by collaborating with Amazon and launching Kindle editions with video and audio. He also added that innovations such as these represent the benefits that digital can provide. He hopes that advancing content in this way will help readers and authors followed by raising the bar on what digital reading can provide for years to come.
Avalon Travel, Bill Newlin, publisher said that the newly introduced Kindle edition with video/audio of Rick Steves’ London  will allow people to listen to Rick in the like manner as they would do in case of exploring the sites of London. The narration of Rick adds depth to the experience of the reader whereas listeners can follow the routes more simply with the text. As per media reports, Amazon launched a free kindle application for smart phones based on Android software in the US on Monday. Kindle editions with video and audio are available now with the best of kindle apps. In fact, they have also been updated for supporting the retina display of iPhone.
