New Android Laptop Launched By Toshiba

"Toshiba_ac100" The leading computer brand Toshiba has introduced its first laptop that features the Google Android mobile operating system. This notebook also has the advanced technology of a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 250 processor, a 10.1 inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, an inbuilt storage memory of 8 GB, a RAM with 512MB, a microSD card reader and a 1.3 MP camera. This computer is also endowed with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity along with the 3G technology. The notebook has a sleek and attractive design and it measures 262x190x14mm. The weight of the notebook is only 870 grams.

The AC100 notebook offers the user quick access to emails and the internet. The boot up time for the notebook takes less than a second and the user has the option to keep the notebook on a stand mode for up to 7 days. The AC100 notebook is ideal for those people and professionals who need quick access to documents, emails and the Internet when they are traveling and on the move. The other features that are included in the AC100 are an HDMI port, 1.3 MP camera, a microphone and an audio out port.

Other pre-installed applications include a messaging client, a Opera Mobile Browser, an e-mail client with a POP3 support and IMAP and Exchange apps. The user also gets the benefits of the Toshiba Media Player and Documents To Go applications.

Toshiba has made a significant move by launching this range of laptops as it displays the commitment of the PC manufacturer in supporting Google’s Android OS. The Android OS however is not expected to capture the OS market that focus on conventional desktop computers and notebooks. This market is most likely expected to be targeted by Google’s Chrome OS. Android is now anticipated to become a dominant player in the mobile phone operating system market in the world.
