Internet king Google has declared the launch of open source software for Mac, Linux and Windows. This open source software came to be known as GoogleCL. It allows users to execute sophisticated tasks on a couple of Google portals. The tool has been introduced essentially for developers this Friday. The company will provide the command line tool for some of its services. The toll can also be termed as a command line utility providing access to different Google services according to Jason Holt, Google engineer. We also come to know from her blog that it streamlines jobs like posting to a blogger blog, editing documents on Google docs and adding events to Calendar.
But then, Google hasn’t done anything other rather than providing instructions for installing the tool on Linux. In fact, there are other users of different operating system who can post a reply from a third party source. Mac users can easily install the tool if they have installed homebrew or MacPorts. If you have been using Windows then you need to uninstall the zip file on a location followed by running commands in the terminal for starting the tool. The tool will ask for password and username followed by helping the user to search through the tool.
The easier installation for Windows and Mac users is expected soon. Generally speaking, by opting for this tool you will get access to Docs, Picasa, Blogger, Calendar, YouTube, and Contacts. Users are able to perform different functions such as creating an album on Picasa or creating a blog post on Blogger etc through the tool. Well, if you haven’t yet opted for this new feature introduced by Google then you are certainly missing out on something important. Hence, Mac, Linux, and Windows users make sure to avail GoogleCL without delaying any further.
