Windows 7 SP1 Beta
This report was strengthened when Microsoft officially announced that they aren’t going to include new features in SP1 for Windows 7. Microsoft said they are pleased to announce that Windows 7 SP1 Beta will be available for download by the end of July. Along with this release, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 will also be released and made available for download.

Except for features like RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory which is also specific for Windows Server 2008, there is nothing new to speak about this release.
Microsoft officials confirm that the Windows 7 SP1 is a very small event and this update is not going to bring new features for the Windows 7 users. Microsoft encourages the customers to deploy this service pack as it would not make any difference.

Windows 7 SP1 is also expected to give updates that are already available via Windows Updates and certain hotfixes which Microsoft considered as important. These hotfixes were made based on customer feeback and Microsoft analysis over the performance of Windows 7.
