BlackBerry sales are going as planned

RIMRIM announced BlackBerry sales  have been going well despite the recent threat from Apple’s iPhone. RIM is the manufacturer of the BlackBerry smartphones and has been aggressively fending off the the threat of the iPhone on its market share lead.

In the US market, wireless carrier AT&T has exclusive rights to the iPhone which is obviously its best selling device but the Bold 9700 from RIM comes second in AT&T’s sales. AT&T’s competitor Verizon Wireless witnessed a very positive January for the BlackBerry phones as the BlackBerry Tour along with the Motorola Droid were the two best sellers at Verizon.

As for the global market, the 8520 Curve sales remain strong in Latin America and Western Europe with inventory running low.
