Acer Reveals 7 Inch Android Tablet With Full QWERTY Keyboard

CEO of Acer, Gianfranco Lanci, today revealed to the media about their new products which included a 7 inch android Tablet which possessed a full qwerty keyboard. The Product was stylish and glamorous. It is expected that this Android Tablet will be released by the last quarter of this year.

Lanci also reported that Acer is looking forward to telcos to support the device and suggested that it might include 3G. However there was no hint about the price tag of this device. Acer has been repeatedly saying that they are going to release an iPad competitor. Probably this might just well be the competitor for iPad in the near future.

There are also rumors circling around which suggests a device launch in Computex will be headed by Acer and this could well be the device that will be launched in June this year.

The biggest difference between Acer’s Tablet and iPad is the full featured QWERTY keyboard which is missing in the iPad. If the price tag of the Acer’s Tablet is reasonable then we could see good competition.

The recent release of Dell Streak was also another big hit in the news section in the last one week. A lot of competitors are now seen for the iPad. But would this be the old story again? Like the way Apple released the first Touch Phone in the form of iPhone and despite the stiff competition thereafter, iPhone holds the top position in the market.

It is also known that Acer is developing its own applications for this Device and would also love developers to build Apps for Android in a more aggressive way. Since Dell Streak is also expected to run on Android Platform the competition is getting tougher by the day.

“Acer plans to roll out this Android Tablet globally by October and will compete with Dell Streak and Apple iPad”.
