Well, we’re still waiting for 2.1 to come to the Xperia X10 so news on 2.3 is like rubbing salt in the wounds! I had an HTC Desire with 2.2 on it and was very impressed with Froyo so Im looking forward to Gingerbread, might have to get a phone that will be able to use it this century!

I have tried most smart phones but to honest in my opinion Blackberry is far the best. If only blackberry will support VOIP it will be a supper phone. although some software such as talknut gives you the option to make voip over 3g and wifi still the quality is very poor

I dont think we can compare iphone with Android phones. Iphones quality is best and provides good apps service too. Even its very difficult to find this phone in India. Very less people use this phone. But i have just heard that android is going to compete iphone soon.

I think iphone 4 already is very powerful. I dont think Android Froyo can outperform iphone 4 except there are some manufactuers can launch the new phone platforms as beautiful as iphone4. In the following year, Android has a long way to go.

I like how they are bringing a replacement for Flash into affect. Android had one of the best flash processing around and now they’re doing this to it. The HTML5 standards are really interesting although, I’m actually interested in seeing what they’ll do with this advancement.

The Android is in a Java language. It is a programming language that is the 20th century’s most influential at the moment. It is used from application software to Web applications.

Google with android want to beat iPhone. I think it’s hard to beat Apple. In my country for example, most people know iPhone, but only few people who knows Android. So i think it’s unrealistic to defeat Apple.

Gotta love all the iPhone fans, im guessing that you never touched an Android phone, the Samsung galaxy OS setup looks like the one iPhone is using, except Samsung made it alot better on an Android platform.

My iPhone 4 is terrible compared to My HTC desire hd, not even My gf wants my iPhone, she prefets her x10 mini over it, which says it all

im kinda unsure about this feature on android 2.3
“Open source video codec that can replace flash.”
why does it need to be open source when flash can be used directly?

The gingerbread looks good, but I don’t think Android phones will ever replace the iPhone. Maybe one day though, you never know.

Good to know that they are planning an open sourced codec, you just gotta love how technology evolves, I remember using my old motorola and thinking I was cool with a grey brick on the side of my head, now these things are the size of a palm!

Comparing Iphone and Android: Iphone is like a classic car. It looks nice and has nice fuctions and can go fast. Android is like a brand new car with its features and speed always increasing. While Iphone stands still or you have to spend lots of money to upgrade to the newest. Android will keep updating its software to make it better and keep it fresh and new. I have used both and like both, but being in IT I can do way more with my android base phone, and it is the fastest phone I have ever used. I am sure there are faster phones out there but when you can’t keep up with your phone I think it is fast enough. I use the Incredible on Verizon and have never dropped a phone call and have always had internet no matter where I go, and I travel all over.

That is nice and dandy list of features…

Where the hell is EMAIL and enhanced support for MS exchange?

    Where is integrated INBOX?

I just switched from blackberry (after 7 years with another carrier) to HTC EVO 4G and the above 2 features are the most lacking.

Yes there is exchange support, but you can only add one, if you want to add more you have to go through few apps to get the right one but WHY a 3rd party solution???

Why should the user switch between 3, 4 or even 10 email accounts just to read them all, WHERE IS INTEGRATED inbox?

Yes, I like the android and HTC EVO but at least blackberry had one thing down and that is email.

iphone is for nerds who think they know tech, android is the real deal, 2.3 android with dual core tegra will blow iphone 4/5/6 into history, sorry apple your rude, locked down and anul.

I have an HTC Dsire with Android 2.2 and love most of the features other then the contact search being restricted just to the names (not the organization – a severe issue considering the Android is a Google product!) and the short battery life (previously most of mobile phones I owned where Nokia).

Hopefully 2.3 will deal with the contact issue, a major problem for a smartphone!

Why are we on about 2.3 when we have just got 2.2 that works if there are any bug fixes then bring another 2.2.1 or update 1 out i have always found android to be ahead of iphone i can see were android is going as processors are getting faster mainly for games but its a phone not a games machine i have a Galaxy tab and it beets the iphone but if i want to play games i have a Sony play station for that, the Tab does every thing i want on the net

If it is not bust don’t fix it

I have a HTC Desire, with Android 2.2.1 and it is incredibly fast. I’m looking forward to Android 2.3 with all its nifty features, like the flash replacement codec, that sounds awesome! Video from flash is still pretty slow, so native video support for these formats will be very nice :)
