There has been a lot of speculations about the iPhone made for Verizon networks or more specifically, an iPhone that is powered on a CDMA network instead of a GSM network. Previously, this weren’t made available because Apple had an exclusivity contract with AT&T which utilizes the GSM network. Making a CDMA iPhone wouldn’t profit Apple a lot and it may breach the exclusivity contract as well.
However, that contract will soon end and experts speculate that Verizon users may rejoice soon enough. How soon? They think that the Verizon iPhone will be released anytime in June, possibly along with the iPhone 4G or the fourth-generation iPhone and the iPhone OS 4.0.
What we think however is that Apple should definitely go with the launch of a Verizon iPhone or better yet, a fourth-generation iPhone that works on both GSM and CDMA networks. Verizon has a large user base and has one of the best networks in the United States. The iPhone is a network hogging machine and with Verizon having an underutilized network, it may be a good place for the iPhone.
