Android Platform may get a new processor

Good news for Android operating system users who use that in their portable device that Android may get a major improvement soon in operating system speed and its processor an Inter revealed that Atom chips are capable of running Android efficiently. This can prove very useful as Both Google and Intel will be benefited if the tie up happens.

Till now, Android was running on chips mostly made from a UK firm called Arm, but Atom chips are more efficient from these chips, less costly and energy efficient, opening a major possibility that Android Operating System may be revamped based on running on Atom chips that are capable of running better graphical user interface and giving power packed performance.

There are news from Google boss Eric Schmidt that Google is also making a device similar to Apple’s iPad in the UK firm Arm, but with better hardware specifications that may get improvement on a newly run chip, Intel’s Atom. And Android runs not only in some selected smartphone but also in may tablets, netbooks, PDAs and other portable handheld devices. In the long run, Google can beat smartphone running other operating systems by using Atom powered Android operating systems.

But it will not be the first time Android will be running on Atom chips, before it had test drive in Acer Netbooks or in Nokia’s Booklet 3G and with upcoming LG GW990 smartphone that is yet to be released as a first Atom run Android smartphone, only this time Intel’s General Manager Renee James officially announced Atom as Android ready chip, capable of running Android tasks smoothly and efficiently. It is to see how and when Google use Intel’s Atom on a mass processing scale worldwide in all Android running device.

We will be waiting for a good Atom powered Android device and will update with the review whenever available.
