How Apple OS 4.0 won’t be so much of a threat to its competitors

Admit it, Apple is already falling far behind from its competitors. If it weren’t for the speedy processor and the Apple name, the sales of the product might have been dropped for good. In a recent keynote speech, Steve Jobs said that a new OS will be made available in Fall 2010. However, there are reasons that this update won’t be so much of a threat for Apple competitors particularly the Android and the future Windows Phone 7.

First, the multitasking feature is only limited to those using the iPhone 3GS. This means that the iPhone 3G and 2G users will be left behind. Multitasking on the other hand has always been available for every other mobile operating system. Android has it, Windows Mobile has it and even the PalmOS has it. It isn’t something new. Well, maybe it is for iPhone users.

iPhone doesn’t support Flash and will most probably never have it but all of its competitors will soon support flash natively. The 5x digital zoom capability isn’t so much as a splendor as some of its competitors’ phones have up to 5 MP or even more in some cases.

Due to these reasons, we cannot say that the iPhone have achieved something that other operating systems have done. In fact, what we thing is that Apple mostly took example from the jailbroken phones.
