The iPad may be the most talked about product right now as it had made more than 300,000 sales within the first 24 hours of its launch. In fact, most stores have now run out of iPads to sell and people are selling their iPads on eBay for ridiculously high prices.
Just like the iPhone, the iPad will soon have a big user base and sooner or later, a lot of people will use the iPad to surf the Internet. For the advertisers, this can be quite interesting as well as they will see a whole new breed of users.
So why is doing advertising campaign on the iPad interesting? This is because mobile advertising campaigns are less sought after as compared with their computer counterparts. This means that there is a chance of less competition in the market.
Although the iPad falls in the category of normal computer, it is still considered as a mobile device because it uses the iPhone operating system. As websites will most probably think of the iPad as mobile devices, they will render mobile advertisements instead of advertisements for computers.
