The U.S. Justice Department has stated it has concerns relating to the deal between Google Inc. and the Authors Guild as their planned online library fails to address copyright concerns.
Google has been planning to have millions of books available online which would provide more access to the public but raise antitrust concerns. Google continues to expand its services as it seeks to compete in various fields with Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo and other firms.
The search engine giant has the Nexus One smartphone device which is its competing version of Apple’s iPhone while it continues to upgrade its search engine accuracy and speed to fend off any threat from Microsoft’s Bing.
