Google Android on the rise right now

With the release (and future release) of new smartphones powered by Google Android, it is no surprise that the mobile operating system is gaining a foothold in the conquest of becoming one of the most successful mobile OS in the world.

In just two years, the mobile OS was able to secure at the minimum of 7% of the operating system market share for mobile devices making it one of the fastest growing mobile operating system in the planet.

There are a number of products that contributed to the success of Google Android namely the Motorola Droid and Google Nexus One. The Nexus One received a lot of publicity from the press and the blogosphere but it failed to compete in the number of sales due to a few reasons.

Nonetheless, with the future release of new devices such as the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Google Android will continue to stand strong in the mobile device market. In fact, it is estimated that the operating system will become one of the top 3 mobile OS in a few years time.
