Verizon users petitioning for a version of iPhone for their carrier

Although having one of the best coverage in the United States, Verizon was unable to get the iPhone to work with their network due to a few reasons. One is because the exclusivity contract for the iPhone was given to AT&T and another is because the iPhone supports only GSM network and not CDMA. Verizon on the other hand is using the CDMA technology.

However disappointed the Verizon users with this decision made by Apple, they are still committed to bring the iPhone to their carrier especially with the Apple – AT&T exclusivity contract ending soon. They have already made a petition online.

The people behind this movement are hoping to get Apple’s attention by giving them what they want: a version of iPhone for Verizon. The petition had already received more than 600 people supporting it and with a goal of 1,000,000 supporters, it is still a long way to go. Nonetheless, there are demands for a CDMA version of iPhone and people all around the world are hoping to get their hands on one of them.
