Reports about new BlackBerry OS versions

RIM’s BlackBerry devices have been popular worldwide, particularly for businessmen, despite Apple’s iPhone dominating run in the world market of smartphone devices. RIM is trying its best to displace the iPhone as the leading smartphone device in the world and in fact the BlackBerry phones have multiple spots in the top 10 rankings for smartphone devices beginning with second place (iPhone takes number one).

Despite iPhone taking number one, RIM has multiple BlackBerry phone in the top 10 and now is attempting to enhance them and introduce newer models such as the Pearl 9100. RIM is also working diligently on introducing the OS 5.2 which will be introduced as the newest version of the BlackBerry OS in 2010. Some leaked reports reveal RIM has already begun working on another improved version which will be the OS 6.0 but a tentatitve release date has not been pencilled in as of yet.
