Sales of Xbox 360 exceeded Wii in February

Reports say that Xbox 360 sales exceeded Wii during February

Overall industry sales reduced by 15% although better sales in the current month was expected.

Total sales reduced to 20% this month from US$1.26 billion to $426 million.

The comparative figures of Xbox and Wii were 422000 to 397900 units respectively.

Playstation 3 sold 360100 units and met an increase of 30% .The Playstation 2 managed 101900 units on sale

Nintendo’s DS was again the top selling device with sales of 613200 units against PlayStation Portable’s 133,400 units in handheld gaming space.

The record sales has reduced due to Nintendo’s new DS model – Dsi XL.

The public demand may rise on the introduction of Nintendo’s new DSi XL on March 28

Software sales has dropped by 15% and some more in retail.

The other top selling games of the month were Take 2′s “Bioshock 2,” Xbox 360 version, Activision’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Nintendo’s “New Super Mario Bros.”
