App downloads and revenue keep growing

Apple recently reported close to 3 billion Apps have been downloaded from its App store in less than 18 months. Latest figures show close to 140,000 Apps are available for the iPhone.

Research has shown the Apps market keeps growing with the latest general figures showing 2.5 billion Apps were downloaded in 2009 for a revenue of $4.2 billion. This year the downloads are expected to reach over 4.5 billion and to a staggering 21.6 billion by 2013 for a total annual sale exceeding a tremendous $29 billion.
