Google Gains in the Smartphone Market Share

Google has made a huge gain while Microsoft has collapsed in the smartphone share in the US.

Research in Motion is rated as a leading mobile smartphone by the market analyst comscore. In US RIM holds about 43% share of smartphone subscribers. 

Apple with  25.1% share ranks 2nd, followed by Microsoft with 15.7% share,  Google with 7.1% share and Palm with 5.7% share.

ComScore reported that Google’s Android platform is rapidly gaining market shares.

The popular mobile application is texting app with around 63.5% of the smartphone users using it for SMS and around 28.6% of the subscribers using the device for web browsing.

Social media networks were being accessed using these devices and with 3.3% of subscribers accessing it in the month of October, the rate has now gradually increased to 17.1%
