HTC HD2: Save upto $250

The much awaited HTC HD2 windows mobile device is expected to be released very soon on the T-mobile. The handset is inclusive of 1 GHz Processor, 4.3 inch TFT capacitive touch display, 512 MB ROM, 448 MB of RAM, EDGE, 3G and the latest version of Windows Media Player. This new handset by HTC is something for which many people have been waiting for. Not just that, it is also inclusive of Digital compass, Pocket Office, HTC Peep, HTC Footprints, FaceBook and Twitter integration, A-GPS, 5 mega-pixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash.

For a user buying this new attraction in the market without a contract with the T-mobile it will cost around $450. T-mobile contract could subsidize this at $200 if purchased with a 2 year contract. However an unlocked HTC HD2 is available on Amazon for more than $ 700, hence getting the same for $450 saves quite a decent amount.

I think HTC will be forced to discount the HD2 even more, as it runs the old Windows Phone classic OS, and Microsoft has already been promoting the newer WP7S platform. None of the Windows Phones on the market today, including the HD2, will be able to run the new platforms, or any of the new applications. This makes it a difficult decision to consider the old Windows Phone platform. It’s probably better to buy something else (eg Android, or iPhone).

Oh my gosh. Give the W7PS crying a rest already. The HTC HD2 for $450 for this type of hardware is an outstanding price. It is literally the best smartphone on the market RIGHT NOW. Windows 7 is some time off, and isn’t even out yet and furthermore will probably be buggy when it debuts at the end of the year. And it’s probably better to buy an Iphone? THe HTC HD2 destroys the I-phone in terms of specs….but if you want an inferior phone…..go for it. R I D I C U L O U S !!!!!!!

Some people are saying they’ve been too dismissive of the phone simply due to its software, and they have a point: The HD2 is, without qualification, the best Windows Mobile phone on the market right now. And being a Windows Mobile phone isn’t all bad: The browsers have Flash, Exchange support is perfect, and multitasking is seamless.

The processor is good. Camera ok but only LED flash is there. More than $700, Its not worth for this amount.

It looks like a decent phone, in some terms way better than the iphone, but I’d still choose that one, because of the huge number of applications that were directly made and optimized for that platform.
