Sony Xperia X10 to Get Android 2.1 OS

The much anticipated Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is said to be upgradable to the latest Android OS version 2.1 or even a higher version of it (2.2). This was announced by a spokesman for the company who said that since the Xperia X10 is the Éclair variant, the update to version 2.1 or even 2.2 will be possible.

The Xperia X10 series has been debated by a lot of people. It was first seen in MWC 2010 Sony Ericsson even in London and sports the outdated Android OS version 1.6. This was seen as a major turnoff for a lot of people.

However, the Sony Xperia X10 series will come in three different flavors mainly the X10 itself, the X10 Mini and the X10 Mini Pro. The upgrade is said to be done in all three X10 flavors. It is confirmed by the company’s spokesman that the Xperia X10 series will get an upgrade to version 2.1. However, details about the upgrade to version 2.2 remain sketchy.
