The Samsung E6 eBook Reader for a Different Reading (?!) Experience
Samsung has forayed into the electronic book reader industry with a new eReader device announced for imminent availability, at least in the United States
The device is a product of a deal made by Samsung with the US book retailer Barnes & Nobel to sell content for the gadget
Anyone who has utilized an electronic book reader previously must recognize this eReader at first glance itself. The 6 inch 600×800 E-ink display is the staple look.
When looked at closely, all the interesting innovations incorporated in the device become obvious. Besides basic electronic book reading, the eReader provides support to the well-known open ePub format, plain text files and Adobe PDF.
The eReader also has the capability to take down notes and annotations through the stylus and voice recorded features.
The sound is expanded to cover text to speech. The device is sure to be a boon to people who are partially challenged visually and for those who prefer to ‘listen to their books’ while they are driving too.
It comes equipped with WiFi for the purchase and content download sans a PC and Bluetooth for connection to headsets for wireless listening
The Samsung eReader comes with a 2GB internal memory and a micro SD slot that allows an additional 16GB of memory
The US may be the first to herald the entry of the eReader sometime during the spring, at around $299
