Microsoft May Give a Hand to the Companies Taken to Court by Apple
Oppenheimer analyst Reiner’s Tuesday report suggest that Microsoft may provide a helping hand to HTC and to the other mobile manufactures who were taken to court by Apple.
Apple has filed a law suit last week against HTC for abuse of 20iPhone patents. HTC was actually the first company to begin work on the alleged iPhone Challenger, Google Android operating system and had lent support to the platform during the early period of its emergence.
HTC has the legal papers from Apple but business watchers are of view that Apple targeted the Taiwanese company due to its close relationship with Google.
Microsoft is looking at this as an opportunity to look for partners for windows Phone 7 while Apple’s unrest against backers of Android are making other OEMs jittery.
Reports show Microsoft has sniffed the opportunity to promote the might of its IP portfolio and its enthusiasm to join the battle with customers coming under the IP attack
