Samsung E1107 – The Solar Phone

Solar powered mobile phones is an appealing concept but is sure isn’t new. Many makers have launched their phones in the market and Samsung is now ready with its Samsung E1107 mobile phone. The phone is the first of its kind for Samsung and it will be known as Solar Guru or Crest Solar.

The handset is thick, being 16mm in depth. However, the weight is as low as 77g to make it a light phone. The display is 1.52-inch CSTN display and a small LED is present to be used as a torch. The design has nothing new to offer but it is fairly good. The selling point of the phone is the solar power. Every hour of solar charging is capable of offering approx 10 minutes of talk time. It is not much for sure, but can be used in case of dire emergency. It can be used as a backup phone, if not the main one.
