Palm and HP Scratch the Surface Through Palm Pre 2

Since the acquisition of Palm, HP has been keeping a low profile until very recently when the duo released a new smartphone. The Palm Pre 2 is the first smartphone under HP+Palm lineage to hit the market in all its glory.

Palm-Pre-21For the last one year, Palm on its own didn’t release anything. We get it, the company was sinking like Titanic the “Unsinkable” and everyone was worried about saving his/her own hide. Palm went up for grabs and HP bought it for a couple of billion dollars.

The latter company was happy regarding the acquisition and they proved that Palm was worth the squeeze. The Palm Pre 2 not only rekindles the memories of old Palm handsets, but also offers the much promised features that HP once spoke of:

• Stacks – An all new multitasking feature that collates related items
• Exhibitions – Turn your Palm Pre 2 into a touchscreen based device
• Social network support – the HP/Palm handset has all the tools for social networking buffs
• Synergy – Simple to use app that populates your social profile and necessary data online

So far, the device seems quite good because it is keeping up with the market’s requirements. For examples, despite of Adobe Flash 10’s beta version, the Palm Pre 2 still supports it. The new smartphone has a slide out keypad and 1GHz processor which is more than enough to run applications simultaneously.
