Google 4th best place to work

The search engine giant kept its fourth place ranking amongst the best companies to work for. Google ranked fourth last year as well according to Forbes after being number one in both 2007 and 2008.

Google is competing full force with the likes of Apple, in particular in the smartphone devices business, and has also entered into the movie rental service after YouTube signed a deal with Sundance Film Festival for five movies. Google also has to deal with increased competition from Microsoft which launched its own search engine Bing.

According to Forbes the search engine giant is looking to hire thousands of new employees and despite cutting down on some perks Google still allows its engineers to devote some 20% of their time to projects of their choosing.
