Motorola Droid Pro to Target BlackBerry Market?

On Tuesday Motorola showcased its latest smartphone, the Droid Pro. It is an Android–based handset that is targeted at the BlackBerry market.

 Motorola-Droid-Pro The handset will be available in the market next month and it will be sold by Verizon Wireless. The Droid Pro is designed for business people and it can be regarded as a good alternative to BlackBerry devices.

The Droid Pro sports a QWERTY keypad along with 3.1-inch touchscreen. Moreover, there is a possibility to capture pictures with a 5-megapixel camera. With the help of the new smartphone you are able to work with Microsoft Office documents. You should not worry in case your handset is stolen as due to an administrator one can remotely wipe the data from MicroSD card integrated into the handset and from the mobile device itself. Also Motorola is going to add one more ability, such as data and MicroSD card encryption.

As it is regarded as a business handset, it is enabled with GSM and CDMA networks. Apart from that there is a 3G variant. The Motorola Droid Pro runs Android 2.2, which is known as Froyo.

Although the Droid Pro will be unable to replace BlackBerry devices, still it is the right step for Motorola. In general it is a really good mobile device, but it has one missing feature, such as the ability to track changes in Office documents.
