As we all know, Forbes magazine concocts a list of world’s richest men on annual basis. This year’s list showed up some astonishing names.
As usual, on top, there was Bill Gates with a wealth worth of $54 Billion. To my surprise, there was Mark Zuckerberg in there too. In case you don’t know, he’s the CEO of Facebook.Com, with an estimated worth of $7 Billion. Last year, Zuckerberg’s total wealth was estimated to be somewhere around $2 Billion.
For the Facebook CEO, it was a rapid progress to jump from $2 billion to $7 billion. His fellow partners are also on Forbes’ list, with fortunes that are near $1 billion. Currently, Facebook has over 1600 employees, all working in very casual atmosphere. I happened to be at Facebook’s HQ and there was a very friendly layout of the organization. I couldn’t believe it, when I saw a couple of guys prancing around on their skateboards, with file covers in their hands.
Other big shots on the list were your usual familiar faces. We had Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs (who was second to Zuckerberg), and Tom Cruise. Even though technology was and still dominant, we cant deny the value of artists and media people. According to Forbes, about 83 of the richest men reside in America, while the remaining portion is scattered all over the world.
