Infinite USB Memory Device Launched by Infinitec for Ad Hoc Streaming

Not often does a product hit the market and catches everyone’s attention. A small start-up named Infinitec has done exactly that.

The Infinite USB Memory Device is the big tagline of the product launched by the company. The IUM is not a flash drive; it is a  USB stick-styled gadget which has a small computer inside it.

The IUM is an ad hoc streaming device, which builds a small but dedicated Wi-Fi network which lets a host machine to transfer files to a receiving machine via air.

The host PC will actually appear like a giant hard drive to the receiving system and files can be streamed between the two.

The IUM can be inserted into anything that comes with a USB port such as, a Blu-ray player, a printer a media streamer and the likes.

In this manner, the host PC will be able to transmit signals over the dedicated Wi-Fi network and so does away with the USB cable connection between the two.

Currently, there is no way to stream this over the web as the machines are required to be quite close to one another. But it is quite possible if there is an Internet connection with enough speed.
