Oracle to discuss future of Sun Microsystems

Oracle bought last year Sun Mircosystems for $7.4 billion in a deal which was approved by U.S. regulators but not the European Commission. Next Wednesday Oracle will host an eventto discuss the plans for the future of the acquired Sun Microsystems.

Ironically the event will fall on the same day the European Commission is likely to approve of the deal. With the approval almost guaranteed unless there is a major shock, Oracle has probably chosen the day for its symbolic meaning to show it is moving forward with a number of plans involving Sun Microsystems.
