Android to Top Blackberry and Windows Mobile by 2013

The recent adaption of Android mobile operating system by a lot of major smartphone manufacturers helped boost the market share of the operating system made by Google. The open sourced mobile OS is also said to revolutionize the mobile technology to a greater height.

With an estimated growth rate of 20.9% every year between the period 2009 and 2013, Android will gain its position as the #2 mobile operating system in the planet. The top of the chart will still be dominated by Symbian OS due to the large usage of them in conventional mobile phones.

The WebOS by Palm as well as other Linux based mobile operating system will not gain a proper foothold in the quest to dominate the smartphone market. There aren’t just as many manufacturers that are willing to take the chance with these two other mobile operating systems.
