Sony has now claimed today that they have a fixed a very serious bug which crashed the millions of PS3 Consoles for the past 24 hours. There was a bug in the PlayStation 3′s clock which Sony now claims that they have fixed. The internal clock on the PS3 console was programmed to recognize 2010 as a leap year, when it’s actually not the truth.

PS3 Gamers who booted into their PlayStation 3 Consoles on March 1, 2010 received the following error message: “An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)”
For some people the date of their PS3 systems were reset to January 1, 2000.
However, when desperate PS3 users tried to reset the changed date and time with the help of the Internet, their PS3 consoles popped up a message to them: “The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)”. However this problem seems to be with Older and flatter PS3 consoles. If you own a new slim PS3 console it might not be problem. It is advised not to login into the PS3 systems of Older and Flatter versions, since it could result in inability of PS3 to restore specific data.
When Sony confirmed that they have corrected this issue, they also made a mere statement of sorry. Sony said “we are sorry for the inconvenience that this might have caused”. However PlayStation 3 Users are no longer able to play their Overnight Saved games and some users want Sony to get Sued for this incident.
