Google postpones releasing Android smartphones in China

androidIn a move which falls under Google’s decision to stop the censoring of search results in China, the search engine giant opted to delay the launch of new Android smartphones in the Chinese market.

The decision will certainly hurt Google due to the fierce competition caused by the competitiveness of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile and Nokia’s Symbian. Google will certainly try to act swiftly and perhaps work something out with the Chinese market in order to be able to resume its strategic assault to expand in China.

The Chinese market is a huge one with lots of potential but the political restrictions and cultural barriers have played a role in slowing down the attempts of Google to become a dominant player in Chinese society.
